The issues and concerns related to professional gaming

The youngster you see in the picture is Kyle Giersdorf, a sixteen-year-old professional gamer known as Bugha, who won last July the first Fortnite World Cup prize of 3 million dollars in the solo competition. Of course to become a professional video gamer and achieve these results, there has to be dedicated some time practicing. In fact he revealed in an interview that does practice 6 hours a day and even on school days, which is a fairly considerable amount of time.

How does one person become a professional gamer?

The answer to that is not so simple, as there are many factors that can contribute to it. So let's assume that there are consider that in any game there are at least ten thousands of daily players. Then, perhaps 10 to 15% would like to become a professional gamer and enter in the world of eSports. But how many of them actually make it? Probably less than 1%. Therefore, assuming that the chances to become a professional gamer are very little, even if you are dedicating a lot of time to practicing and improving at the game. Hence this time, 4-5 hours a day minimum, could be dedicated to other activities that perhaps would be more beneficial and helpful. The same discourse can be done to people practicing sports and willing to become professionals, making money from it. The chances in these cases are even lower, but at least the positive aspect is that they do make an improvement in their physiscal capacities, gaining muscles and overall physical fitness. But thanks to gaming what is actually improved, despite the skills at playing? Probably reaction time as well as quick thinking and strategies development which could help to win the match. But what else? It is evident that some of the time that is dedicated to gaming, could instead be spent for instance with friends outside, breathing some fresh air and relieve the mind from all the electronic pollution in our head derived from the excessive use of computer, TV or video games.
